English Gold Top Sale Report

Kivells held their first English Gold Top Collective Sale of Pedigree Jersey’s at Bristol Sale Centre with a quality entry of 60 cows, heifers and youngstock.

With the weather good and a general shortage of forage and grass trade for commercial milk was easier than of late although first quality sold to a premium. Top of the day was from Designer Jerseys of Ingatestone, Essex with an outstanding consignment of heifers. A stunning heifer “Designer Vindication Elegance” a Vindication daughter out of the superb show cow “Grayridge GC Elegance EX93” being a tremendous prospect for the future this heifer is due in May and was exceptionally correct and stylish, she sold well to £2362 to Edward Morgan of Carmarthenshire. From the same consignment “Designer Signature Scorpion 6” a Signature daughter with 4 generations of VG and EX behind her she sold into a Dorset herd due in May for £1312. Another Vindication daughter from the same vendors out of the Rapidbay-UK JJ Lets Dance EX91 dam sold due in May for £1155. A superb heifer from David and Lena Lewis of Wiveliscombe being “Southley Willows Thistle 2” with 7 generations of great longevity behind her and their original breeding from their renowned “Dalena” herd sold to £1071.

Top price in milk cow of the day went to Mr GCB Davis of Rivermead Jerseys with a tremendous fresh second calver being “Hollesley Red Caledonia VG86” an Ivanhoe Red Triumph daughter having classified VG86 as a heifer she gave 6118Kgs at 7.69%BF, 4.07%PTN. She sold well giving 34Kgs at £1575 to Messrs Meredith of Bristol.

A lovely served heifer from Malcombe, Ann and Ian Huxtable of Crediton with “Sowden Juno Girl 17” a Lord Juno daughter from the long established Girl family sold to £860. A sweet served heifer due in August “Riggiston Flights Beatrice” from Tyrel and Liz Selway of Street sold to £840.

An outstanding consignment of exceptionally well bred yearling heifers sold well to a top of £819 for “Glanmor Candy Man Justice” a stylish heifer with great show potential. “Glanmor Jet Semolina” out of a home bred sire with 2 generations of VG and EX behind her sold to £610. “Glanmor Synergy Worship” a Centurian Synergy daughter being a grand daughter of superb show cow “Glanmor Julian Wishful EX93” sold to £580.
